UPPER CUMBERLAND – The holidays are getting bright and festive across the Upper Cumberland. Christmas parades and events across the region offer something for everyone. This list will be updated as new events are discovered.

Upcoming events:

Nov. 8 – Dec. 28

Granville – Historic Granville will host the Festival of Trees and Sutton Homestead’s 1960’s “It’s a Wonderful Season” from Nov. 8 thru Dec. 28. Open Wednesday to Friday Noon – 3 p.m. and Saturday Noon – 5 p.m. For information, call 931-653-4151. For more details, see flyer below.

Nov. 28 – Dec. 31

Cookeville –The Holiday Light Display at Hidden Hollow Park will be open from Nov. 28 – Dec. 31. More information available here.

Nov. 29

Livingston – Christmas in the Country on the square with live music, wagon rides, fireworks and Santa. For more details, see flyer below.

Nov. 30  

Granville – The Sutton Ole Time Music Hour Christmas Bluegrass Show. For information, call 931-653-4151.

Livingston – Candy Cane Christmas Market at the Overton County Fairgrounds Rotary Ag Building from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more details, see flyer below.

Dec. 1

Carthage – Christmas Parade begins at 2 p.m. with Smith County Hometown Christmas in downtown Carthage from 1-6 p.m.

Celina – Christmas Parade begins at 2 p.m.

Cookeville – The Cookeville Christmas Tree Lighting & Celebration in Dogwood Park begins at 6 p.m.

Liberty – Christmas Parade begins at 2 p.m.

Dec. 3

Smithville – 1st DeKalb Festival of Trees with elves , reindeer , and over 40 trees, this is truly an event that you can’t afford to miss.

McMinnville – The 33rd Annual Christmas in the Park

Granville – The Sutton Store Players present “It’s a Wonderful Time in Mayberry” For information call 931-653-4151.

Byrdstown – Byrdstown’s Christmas Celebration

Dec. 6-8

Carthage – The Smith County Fine Arts Center presents “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in the Hull Theatre. Tickets can be purchased at the Smith County Drug Center. Show times are Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. For more details, see flyer below.

Dec. 6 – 20

Cookeville – Christmas carriage and wagon rides in Dogwood Park.

Dec. 6

Baxter – Christmas Parade begins at 7 p.m.

Crossville – The Annual Crossville Tree Lighting Ceremony will be from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Depot Lawn. 

Lafayette – Christmas on the Square from 5-8 p.m.

Livingston – Christmas in the Country on the square with live music, wagon rides, fireworks and Santa. For more details, see flyer below.

McMinnville – The Park Theater hosts An A Capella Christmas with OneVoice from 7-9 p.m. Ticket information available here.

Dec. 7

Baxter – Upperman High School is the site for the Rudolph Market Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Byrdstown – Christmas Parade starts at 1 p.m.

Gainesboro – Christmas Parade starts at 5:30 p.m.

Gordonsville – Christmas Parade starts at 5 p.m.

Jamestown – Christmas Parade starts at 10 a.m. followed by Jamestown’s Christmas Trees and Trails festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lafayette – Christmas Parade starts at 1 p.m. 

McMinnville – Christmas Parade starts at 2:30 p.m.

Monterey – Christmas Home & Hearth Market at Monterey Depot Museum 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Parade starts at 6:30 p.m.

Smithville – Christmas Parade starts at 4 p.m. followed by Christmas on the Square at 7 p.m.

Smithville – The 10th Annual Christmas Market will be held at the DeKalb County Community Complex from 8-11 a.m.

Dec. 8

Crossville – Downtown Crossville Christmas Market from 2-8 p.m.

Spencer – Christmas Parade starts at 2 p.m.

Dec. 13-14

The Farm at East Port Marina – A Dickens of a Christmas with carriage rides and a musical performance featuring Ashley Hepperly, Anne Wilson, Sacred Grace Band, Cody Hull and Lee Gibson. For more details, see flyer below.

Dec. 13-15

Byrdstown – Cordell Hull Birthplace State Historic Park presents their 3rd Annual Forgotten Christmas Festivities for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cookeville –Christmas Parade starts at 6 p.m.

Crossville – Christmas Parade starts at 4:30 p.m.

Dodson Branch – Christmas Parade starts at 1 p.m. and the Craft Bazaar opens at 9 a.m. at the Community Center.

Doyle – Christmas Parade starts at 10 a.m.

Monterey – A Live Nativity will be held at the Monterey Farmer’s Market from 4-8 p.m. with live animals, Christmas carols and more.

Cookeville – The Cookeville Mastersingers present A Classic Christmas at TTU’s Bryan Fine Arts Building at 3 p.m. Ticket information here.

Cookeville – See storyteller Tim Lowry in his renowned one-man show, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on at 2:00 pm at the Cookeville History Museum.

Smithville – Merry Jazzmas at the Burlap Room from 6-9:30 p.m.
