Ranking is considered a standard for identifying companies dedicated to creating positive workplaces for military talent

Averitt was recently honored with multiple Viqtory, a veteran-owned organization supporting military service members in their transitions to civilian careers, 2025 Military Friendly awards for the seventh consecutive year including Military Friendly Employer Gold Rank.

The ranking is considered a standard for identifying companies dedicated to creating positive workplaces for military talent that evaluates employers based on criteria such as: Recruiting & Sourcing

  • Policies & Compliance
  • Support & Retention
  • Culture & Commitment, Opportunity and Advancement
  • Hiring & Onboarding
  • The trucking giant was also honored with a Military Friendly® Spouse Employer award.

This year’s survey assessed over 1,000 companies, and Averitt’s performance across these areas has placed it among the top employers in its division.

“Averitt is grateful for the service and dedication of veterans and military spouses, and we’re committed to being a place they can call home,” said Gary Sasser, Averitt Chairman and CEO, who served in the Marine Corps Reserves. “Our team is stronger because of the unique skills and perspectives veterans bring, and we’re dedicated to supporting their success.”

Averitt says the recognition reflects Averitt’s “sustained commitment to providing meaningful career opportunities for service members and their families as they transition to civilian life.”  Approximately 15% of the company’s workforce is made up of military veterans that represent many branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, with the majority having served in the Army
