Program recognizes Tennessee’s top projects, honors contributions of engineers
NASHVILLE – Entries are now being accepted for the Engineering Excellence Awards, presented by ACEC Tennessee. Each year, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee (ACEC Tennessee) hosts the Engineering Excellence Awards to recognize the top projects completed by Tennessee firms.
Interested firms must complete a commitment to submit form by Friday, July 12.
All engineering firms engaged in private practice are encouraged to enter, whether or not they are members of ACEC. Projects of any size and budget are eligible and the entered project can be located anywhere in the world, provided it was managed out of a Tennessee office. Forms and complete entry information are located at www.acectn.org. The online submission process allows for easy entry into the national Engineering Excellence Awards.
The Grand Iris Award for Engineering Excellence will be presented to the project judged best in the overall competition. A Grand Award may be presented in each eleven categories: studies, research and consulting engineering services; building/technology systems; structural systems; survey and mapping technology; environmental; water and storm water; water resources; transportation; special projects; energy; and industrial and manufacturing processes and facilities. In each category, small projects (total project construction budget under $2.5 million) will be judged separately from large projects. In addition, all entries are eligible for the People’s Choice Award, which will be chosen by gala attendees.
Award winners will be announced during a gala celebration at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel on Thursday, Nov. 21.
