US Foods is embarking on a 90,000 square foot warehouse expansion
IWC Food Service (IWC) is joining the US Foods (USF) family following a merger USF call a “tuck-in acquisition strategy,” and the company is holding a groundbreaking at 535 Dry Valley Road, Cookeville on Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. to celebrate. The event is not open to the public.
The transaction is part USF’s strategy to enable the company to “expand its reach into central Tennessee, where the company doesn’t currently have a distribution center.”

As part of this merger, US Foods is embarking on a 90,000 square foot warehouse expansion on the project at the Algood distribution center that is an “initial step in a transformation that will include a rebranded facility, expanded fleet, additional products and value-added tools to help local operators,” according to the Chamber.
The expansion doubles USF’s product assortment allowing for better service of its Middle Tennessee customers.

IWC has more than $200 million in annual revenue and serves 2,700-plus independent restaurants and will continue to operate in the 160,000-square-foot facility in Cookeville and service at Cookeville’s Cash-and-Carry store.
