Stonecom to launch ‘Job Finder’

UPPER CUMBERLAND – With the reduction in federal COVID unemployment payments and so many Upper Cumberland companies struggling to hire, it’s time to focus on finding jobs and getting the Upper Cumberland employed.

The stations of Stonecom will launch “Job Finder” Wednesday, June 2. These five-minute programs will air 18 times each day across Stonecom’s five stations in an effort to spotlight careers available across our region.

“It has been a trying year for our community and our businesses,” Stonecom President Larry Stone said. “In talking with local leaders and members of our workforce development community, there are real concerns about continuing this region’s economic prosperity. We need people to fill all of the jobs that are out there. And we need local employers to understand the realities of the job market.”

Each five-minute program will put a focus on seven different opportunities across the Upper Cumberland to give applicants an in-depth look at these career positions. “We want to help educate people about careers available,” Stone said.

The “Job Finder” will air each day at multiple times, reaching those currently employed who may be looking for a new career option, as well as those who are looking for work and need a job.

The “Job Finder” will also be posted to social media daily.

“We want to help our listeners and we want to help the business community continue to grow,” Stone said. “Some of the stories you are hearing right now from the business community are scary.”

Stonecom will commit a total of 90 minutes of programming each day for the next 16 weeks to getting people in jobs. Job Finder will air Monday-Saturday on
