The golf course will be renamed Honky Tonk National Golf Club

DeKalb County – Steve Smith, owner of Tootsies Orchid Lounge in Nashville and Fishlipz Resort at Pates Ford Marina in Smithville has purchased DeKalb County’s destination golf course RiverWatch Golf Club (RiverWatch).

The Golf Course will be renamed Honky Tonk National Golf Club, according to a post on the RiverWatch Golf Club Facebook page.

“Due to this change in ownership,” said RiverWatch, “we will be closed for improvements until May. Starting May 1, tee times will be open to the public for 90 days. On Aug. 1 we will become a private membership club.”

RiverWatch said they are excited for the change. This is the second time in recent years the Golf club has changed hands with John Fitzmartin taking ownership a few years back. Riverwatch is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Peter Jacobsen and course architect Jim Hardy. It offers five sets of tees and is played anywhere from 6,850 – 4,629 yards.
