Waffle House first opened in 1955 by two neighbors in Avondale Estates, Georgia

According to a report by the Sparta Expositor, Waffle House (WH) will soon open a restaurant in the city of Sparta following approval. The new restaurant will be located on Bockman Way.

From Spartalive.com:

“We’re always looking for opportunities to grow our community in ways that serve our citizens and support local jobs,” Lowery told Spartalive. “Bringing Waffle House to Sparta does just that. It adds something new and exciting to our local landscape, while also giving people another great place to work and gather.”

Lowery announced earlier in April that the now-approved plans had been submitted, and it was a waiting game for a location. The former Sonic location is it. WH first opened in 1955 by two neighbors in Avondale Estates, Georgia, Joe Rogers and Tom Forkner. The duo opened a restaurant focused on “people on both sides of the counter,” according to WaffleHouse.com.

There is no construction timeline yet. This is an ongoing story. Check back for updates.
