COOKEVILLE – Some kids fill summer break with sports. Others prefer arts and crafts or free play.
Cookeville Leisure Services’ summer day camps provide opportunities for all of the above.
“We are excited to be able to offer a jam-packed summer of sports camps, especially after not being able to have any last summer due to the pandemic,” Seth Bruton, Leisure Services athletic superintendent, said.
The sports-themed camps, to be held at Cane Creek Gymnasium and SportsPlex fields, include the return of All Sports Camp, Basketball Camp and Lacrosse Camp, as well as a new Volleyball Clinic.
“We are partnering with local coaches to give the best instruction and experience for our campers,” Bruton said.
Recreational Day Camp, to be held at Cane Creek Recreation Center, offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
Cara Sheets, Leisure Services recreation superintendent, said, “Our day camp allows kids to be kids. We play outside, we do arts and crafts, we use our creativity, and we explore our park area. We encourage our campers to make new friends and be active.”
