Putnam nears $10 million in building permits

PUTNAM COUNTY – Putnam County’s building permits issued in July 2022 totaled $9,911,325, an increase of 61.7% over the previous record for the month, $ 6,130,500, set in July 2020.

In total, 41 permits were issued, with 25 of those being for new single-family homes. Three permits were for residential additions valued at $395,000. Eleven permits were issued for new residential garages, decks etc. valued at $584,000.

July is the first month of our 2022-2023 fiscal year and this is a record start for construction in the county. 

Putnam County is also set to have a record calendar year for the capital investment put into new construction. Year-to-date permits total $64,121,453 which is just short of the 2021 record total of $69,827,572.
