“Unfortunately, we lost our battle today”

Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris has released a statement about the Tennessee Health Facilities Board 6-2 vote to approve a Methadone clinic in Putnam County.

Read the statement below:

“Unfortunately, we lost our battle today. After a three-hour hearing where I, your Sheriff, and multiple other Putnam County officials, as well as an overwhelming amount of citizens (who did a great job representing Putnam County), spoke to the Board opposing the Methadone Clinic,” said Farris.

He continued.

“Just because we have lost the battle, does not mean that we have lost the war. With or without a Methadone Clinic, I will at all costs keep this community safe. I know there are many concerns about the location and a matter of other things this Methadone Clinic will bring, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is always here for you.”
