In Putnam County, August business licenses totaled 52
Nationally, business applications for July decreased 2.1% to 420,802.
Projected business formations for July were 28,110. That is a decrease of 0.2% since June. Applications for July 2024, adjusted for seasonal variation, were 420,802, a decrease of 2.1% compared to June 2024, according to census.gov.
“The projected business formations are forward looking, providing an estimate of the number of new business startups that will appear from the cohort of business applications in each month, according to the site. “It does not provide an estimate of the total number of business startups that appeared within a specific month.”
In Putnam County, August business licenses totaled 52 (28 manufacturing and 24 retail), up from July, according to numbers by Putnam County Clerk Wayne Nabors. In July, Putnam saw 45 (32 manufacturing and 13 retail) new businesses licensed either new or continued.
