Price, Porten promoted to Plateau Region executive positions

COOKEVILLE – SmartBank recently announced the promotions of Anthony Price and Mike Porten. Price has been promoted to Area Market Executive for the Cumberland Plateau region while Porten has been named Market Executive for Putnam County.

In his new role, Price will oversee and lead the bank’s efforts in the Cumberland Plateau region, including Putnam, Fentress and Cumberland counties.  He has more than 30 years of lending and management experience, serving as Market Executive in Hamblen County since 2018.  Prior to coming to SmartBank, Price served as Chief Credit Officer for Citizens Bank. 

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Price has always been active within the community during his career, serving as a board member of the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Hamblen County, Kiwanis Club and Crossroads Downtown Partnership.

Porten will be responsible for managing relationships with the bank’s commercial clients and will help develop and cultivate new and current client relationships in Putnam County. He has more than 34 years of banking experience and has been with SmartBank since 2019.

He is currently a board member for the Tennessee Tech Business Foundation and the Tennessee Tech College of Business. Previously he served the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber as board member and treasurer and twice served as president of the Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity. Porten received his B.S. in business administration, management and MBA in finance from the University of Central Florida.
