Mid State celebrated the crew at an event in Cincinnati March 20
Kelly Coleman is president of Mid State Construction Company (MSC) located at 9190 Bradford Hicks Drive in Livingston. He is proud of his organization and for good reason.
Recently, Coleman shared with the Upper Cumberland Business Journal (UCBJ) that MSC received the 2023 Outstanding Trade Contractor Award on behalf of Turner Construction Company (Turner), the top construction manager/company in the US and recognized as a top five firm for performance, safety and quality delivery of projects around the world.
“We at Turner strongly believe that our success is attributable to our trade contractors being true “partners” in construction,” said Turner in a letter to MSC. “All too often, contractors hear from the General Contractors only when things are going badly. It is appropriate to recognize outstanding efforts for our contracting partners and as such, we pay special tribute to your organization for your performance and contribution to our shared success on projects.”
Coleman celebrated with the MSC crew at an event hosted by Turner March 20.
“It was an honor to take our senior division manager, Doug Cravens and Robby Robbins (site superintendent for Mid State) to Cincinnati for the award ceremony. I am super proud of our team for their outstanding achievements on the Reynolds Architecture Building,” said Coleman.
The Reynolds Architecture Building renovation project site was on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
“The nominations for our awards came from our job site and office staff and are based on overall job performance considering preconstruction, managing, engineering scheduling, expediting, quality of work, safety, relations with others, pricing, cooperation and expertise in your field,” according to the letter.
The detailed work of Cravens, who served as project manager, was noticed.
“Doug does a remarkable job for Mid State and is known for his detail, commitment and outstanding communication,” said Coleman.
According to Coleman, everyone involved deserves accolades.
“It is an honor to lead a team of folks who go above and beyond to deliver projects on time, on budget and leave a positive relationship with owners,” Coleman told the UCBJ. “Great job Team Mid State!”
Turner agrees.
“On behalf of the Turner Project Staff who felt so strongly about nominating you and Turner Leadership, we thank you with our sincere appreciation for your job well done,” Turner wrote.
