The motion passed unanimously

Cookeville – According to the Cookeville City Council, it is now permitted for a business that does oil changes to be allowed within a regional Commercial district in the city. This following a unanimous vote Thursday evening.

Thursday evening, the board approved Ordinance 023-04-07 which amends the Planning Division’s prepared section 223.2. Section 223.2R now reads:

Section 223.2R: Oil Change Facility that provides lubrication and/or checking, changing or addition of those fluids and filters necessary to the maintenance of a vehicle. It is intended that these services will be provided while customers wait, generally within a 15-20 minute time period. Overnight parking of vehicles is prohibited.

Councilman Ali Bagci made the motion to approve. That motion was seconded by councilman Chad Gilbert. The motion passed unanimously.
