“We remodeled and updated our location to bring you an even better experience”

If you have ever been to Smithville and didn’t stop in at Bumpers Drive-In at 303 E Broad Street, you are missing out (take it from me the chicken strips alone are worth the trip).

Luckily for you, there is still time, but that almost wasn’t the case.

Months ago, the quick-service drive-in that “combines the atmosphere of the classic drive-ins of the ’50’s and ’60’s with modern equipment and techniques” with 30 locations throughout the south (think Sonic with more charm), shut its doors after a planned remodeling. Many thought the journey was over, but murmurings of a reopening plan in the lake town soon began.

Bumpers did finally announce the planned reopening for Oct. 3 with a revamped menu and new general manager, Lisa Harris, who has over 30 years of experience.

“Lisa is passionate about delivering top-notch customer service and mouth-watering food. Her heart goes into everything that she does and we’re so glad to have her,” according to Bumpers.

Get ready for a tasty makeover.

“We’re thrilled to announce the reopening on Thursday Oct 3 at 10 a.m. of Bumpers. Your favorite small-town fast-food joint is back and better than ever,” according to the announcement. “We remodeled and updated our location to bring you an even better experience! New look, new menu items, and a whole lot of excitement!”

Bumpers new menu features “classic favorites” including burgers, fresh-cut, hand-battered onion rings, chicken bites, chicken tenders, chili cheese dogs and the always popular philly and “exciting new additions.”

“You’re going to love it,” according to the restaurant. “Swing by and taste the difference for yourself. We can’t wait to see you back to Bumpers!”

Along with Harris, the new management team at the revamped Bumpers includes:

  • Assistant Manager Channell Fisk

“Channell has been with Bumpers for 15 YEARS and is a seasoned pro with a knack for ensuring every bite is delicious and every visit is memorable,” according to the restaurant. “She’s the big sister you always wanted!”

  • Assistant Manager: Caleb Neel

“Caleb is a kind and creative genius behind your mouth-watering favorites making sure our kitchen is always top-notch and running smoothly,” said Bumpers.

  • Director Of Operations Jamesette

“Jamesette is a wonderful God-fearing woman who’s always ready to share the love of the Lord with everyone,” according to the release. “She has been with the company 29 plus years and is one of the masterminds behind our revamped menu.”
