Chamber Highlights New Industry, Tourism Program and Downtown Initiatives
(UCBJ) – The Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) recently welcomed more than 100 business and community leaders to its Annual Celebration and Membership Luncheon. First National Bank of Tennessee served as the presenting sponsor for the second consecutive year.
“Our program of work for the coming year covers economic and community development, tourism, the Bright Futures Initiative, small business support, workforce development, downtown revitalization, advocacy, and serving our members better than we ever have,” the Chamber said.
The Chamber also welcomed three new members to its board of directors:
- Jared Norrod, Twin Lakes
- Ben Winningham, Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation
- Jason Duke, chairman of the Livingston Municipal Airport Board and owner of White Mile Consulting and See It All Travels
“Thank you to every director who gives this Chamber their time and their judgment,” the Chamber said.
The Chamber celebrated the past year while looking ahead to the opportunities awaiting Overton County, including the arrival of its newest industry, the first formal and funded tourism program in the county’s history and the extension of the Courthouse Square Revitalization Act through 2038.
“There is a great deal of opportunity in Overton County. There always has been. It has just never once shown up on its own,” according to the Chamber.
The next Business After Hours event is scheduled for Sept. 24 at the Livingston Municipal Airport.
