COOKEVILLE – The cityscape of South Jefferson will soon be changing as the Quality Inn property, on South Jefferson Avenue, that has long been the location of one hotel will soon be the site of three.

Late last year, the Cookeville Planning Commission approved a plan to subdivide the property for a Super 8 motel on the back 1.46 acres of the lot. On Monday night, the Commission approved a plan to divide the remaining 2.97-acre property for two hotels.

The newest three-story section of the Quality Inn will remain on 1.63 acres in the middle of the lot, and the remainder of the building, including the former restaurant and sports bar, will be demolished to make way for a five-story Hilton Home2 Suites on the 2.34-acre front lot.

Demolition of the old Quality Inn will begin within weeks, and construction of the new hotel will begin later this year.

The five-story Hilton Home2 Suites will be an all-suite extended-stay hotel featuring contemporary accommodations and customizable guest room design. Approximately 101 guest rooms are planned.

The property is being developed by Krishna Hospitality Partnership, and the franchise agreement has already been secured. The new hotel is anticipated to open around March 2022.

The remaining Quality Inn will feature 66 rooms and a pool area, with street access to both South Jefferson Avenue and Neal Street.
