MCMINNVILLE – The city of McMinnville has chosen Nolan Ming, McMinnville’s current director of community development, to fill the position of city administrator.
Although the board was initially split on their decision with a vote on Brian Wilson failing 3-4, the board came together and voted unanimously to approve the choice of Ming for the position.
The city still has to finalize the compensation and benefits package for Ming and bring that back to the board for final approval. They hope to have Ming in the position in early May with Bill Brock agreeing to stay until the transition is completed.
Ming has been with the city in the role of director of the community development department since 2015. Prior to that he served as a building and environmental codes department director for Warren County from 2013-2015.
Ming currently serves as the treasurer of the Middle Tennessee Codes Officials Association and as co-chairman of the Warren County, TN 2020 Census Complete County committee. He is a member of Rotary International and ICMA – International City/County Management Association.
