Much of the community was on hand for the event

Macon Community Hospital (MCH), a 25- Bed critical access hospital located at 305 West Locust St. in Lafayette recently held 70th anniversary celebration in Macon County.

The Macon County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) was on hand for the event.

“We had a fantastic turnout with over 150 people in attendance. We were honored to welcome representatives from Senator Blackburn and Senator Hagerty’s offices. County Mayor Steve Jones along with Congressman John Rose, and Senator Ken Yager in attendance,” according to a statement by MCH.

Local businesses, citizens, hospital employees, physicians, EMS and board members were also on hand for the event.

“A special thank you to Ben Bray for providing and setting up the tent early this morning – especially in the rain! Thankfully, the skies cleared, and we enjoyed some sunshine for the event,” according to the statement. “Great job to everyone who played a part in making today such a success. We’re proud to serve this community and grateful for your continued support over the past 70 years.”
