Company also announced Nick Davis as 2025 President of the TRBA

Mid-State Construction’s (MSC) Bridge Division has been recognized as the 2024 “Prime Contractor of the Year” by the Tennessee Road Builders Association (TRBA).

“This prestigious award is voted on by TRBA subcontractors, suppliers and associate members, highlighting the division’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and professionalism in the bridge construction and repair industry,” according to a release by the company.

What is bridge division?

According to MSC, it specializes in managing “complex” bridge projects, including:

  • bridge deck repair
  • accelerated construction methods
  • bridge deck overlay
  • modular expansion joint replacement,
  • bridge widening
  • concrete repair
  • substructure modification
  • and the construction of new structures

“With a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety, the division has established itself as a trusted leader in the industry,” according to the company.

Key criteria, including the prompt and reliable payment to subcontractors and suppliers, play a part in who receives the award every year, but there are other considerations like the professional and confidential handling of subcontractor bids.

“It also recognizes the company’s ability to maintain adequate personnel and equipment to complete projects on time. Fair and transparent subcontract agreements, providing sufficient lead time for subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring a safe and well-prepared worksite are also essential factors in receiving this recognition,” according to the release.

New President

The company also announced Nick Davis, Vice President of the Bridge Division who currently serves on TRBA’s PAC Committee and Investment Committee, as 2025 President of the TRBA.

MSC says Davis brings “extensive experience and leadership to his new role, further strengthening the division’s reputation within the industry.”

“We are truly honored to receive this award from our peers in the industry,” said Nick Davis. “At Mid-State, we take great pride in our collaborative approach, working alongside subcontractors and suppliers to ensure every bridge project is completed with the highest standards of quality and safety.”
