Keisling named Legislator of the Year

COOKEVILLE – A statewide network of city and county mayors has recognized Rep. Kelly T. Keisling as the 2019 Tennessee Renewable Energy & Economic Development Council’s Legislator of the Year.

The Tennessee Renewable Energy & Economic Development Council’s (TREEDC) seventh annual conference was held on Dec. 13 at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. This event showcased the best practices in renewable energy toward economic development across the state of Tennessee. Keisling is recognized for his leadership in the Tennessee General Assembly on energy initiatives that provide for economic development.  

Keisling, of Byrdstown, represents House District 38. He is the chairman of the House’s State Government Committee and has served as a member of the House of Representatives since 2011. Keisling previously served as Pickett County Executive.

TREEDC is a statewide network of 108 city and county mayors and businesses working together to create a path to fast-track renewables in Tennessee. TREEDC’s mission is to promote and connect renewable energy with economic development and energy efficiency for all Tennessee communities. The organization was founded by leadership at the University of Tennessee.
