The Oregon-based Coffee chain will set up shop on Jefferson Avenue

What was once Moes in Cookeville will soon be Dutch Bros Coffee (DBC), a “high-growth operator and franchisor of drive-thru shops that focus on serving hand-crafted beverages,” according to Cookeville Mayor Laurin Wheaton.

“Changes are coming to Jefferson Ave,” said Wheaton in a statement.

This is on the heels of DBC’s recent opening of a new location in Rutherford County. As of Dec. 2024, DBC had 982 locations across 18 states.

The Oregon-based Coffee chain will set up shop at 870 S. Jefferson Avenue.

Where Moes once stood – The old Moes building at 870 S. Jefferson Avenue was removed today to make way for Dutch Bros Coffee.

“Work has already begun, and an anticipated opening date is soon! Stay tuned for more details,” according to Wheaton.

The company says its goal is to open 2,029 shops by 2029. DBC recently announced a new development goal of over 7,000 shop openings.
