RaceTrac operates 585 convenience stores

According to sources, Racetrac Inc., the company has purchased the 10.5 acres located on South Willow across from the future home of The Willows Shopping Center at 1100 South Willow Avenue in Cookeville.

The total purchase price was over $4 million, according to sources. The chain is being tighlipped about its plans, however.

RaceTrac told the UCBJ:

“Currently, it’s still too early to share any details about the project,” according to the company. “We can share that a new RaceTrac store will open in October at 1100 W Hwy 25-70 in Newport, TN. We will also be opening our 600th RaceTrac store in company history in 2025 as well.”

The parcels of land once held a gas station (since torn down) and sit adjacent to the Star Motor Inn and south of the longstanding hotel.

RaceTrac, which operates 585 convenience stores, is a family-owned company headquarted in Atlanta, Georgia and has been in business since 1934.
