The McMinnville–Warren County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) has renamed its “Distinguished Citizen Award” to honor the legacy of Phyllis Prater. Prater, former owner of Prater’s BBQ in Morrison and Manchester died following a fatal car crash in October of last year.

“This year, we had the profound honor of renaming our Distinguished Citizen Award in memory of Phyllis Prater, a true pillar of our community. Phyllis’s kindness, dedication, and unwavering support for Warren County left a lasting impact on so many lives,” according to the Chamber.

The newly minted Phyllis Prater Distinguished Citizen Award was presented to her family at the Chamber’s recent annual banquet in recognition of her lifelong contributions and the difference she made through Prater’s BBQ and beyond, according to a release by the Chamber.

“Though she is deeply missed, her spirit continues to inspire us all. Please join us in honoring Phyllis and the legacy she leaves behind,” said the Chamber.
