Additional jobs to position company as second-largest employer in Crockett County
Hitachi Energy officials recently announced the company is expanding manufacturing operations in Alamo, Tennessee. Hitachi Energy will invest an initial $97 million and create 100 new jobs through the project with plans for future growth.
“This project marks a significant investment in rural Tennessee, and I am grateful to the leaders in Crockett County and Alamo for their role in securing this expansion. Thank you again to the Hitachi Energy team for its continued investment in our state, which we know will create greater opportunity for Tennesseans in the years to come,” said Gov. Bill Lee.
The additional investment in Alamo will allow the company to expand its manufacturing presence, increasing its total capacity for transformer components such as high-voltage direct current (HVDC) bushings across the globe. Upon completion, the expansion will solidify Hitachi Energy’s position as the second-largest employer in Crockett County.
“This investment in Tennessee is also an investment in the future of America’s energy infrastructure. We’re not only increasing our ability to deliver vital components to customers across the U.S. and the world, but we’re also making a long-term commitment to the Crockett County community. This facility plays a critical role in meeting fast-growing energy demand from AI as well as grid expansion and modernization, and we’re proud to grow our footprint and strengthen domestic manufacturing right here in Tennessee,” said Steve McKinney, head of transformers, North America, Hitachi Energy
