Phase one of project expected to be complete in about a year

Cookeville – The Upper Cumberland Business journal has acquired renderings of the future Highbury Subdivision that will sit next to the Honda Dealership at the corner of Neal Street and East Veterans Drive in Cookeville. Initial plans place 147 lots in the subdivision with phase one finishing up construction in approximately one year, according to sources.

Growth – Highbury Subdivision will feature 146 single-family homes.

The property sits on 18.81 acres and development plans show 146 single-family detached building lots and the installation of utilities. There are also plans to construct three private streets: Belfair Street, Meridian Street and Corsair Way. According to official documents, five-foot-wide, ADA-compliant, sidewalks will be required along Neal Street and East Veterans Drive. 

According to the documents, proposed plans state that Corsair Way will provide access off Neal Street, Meridian Street will provide access off East Veterans Drive and Belfair Street will connect Meridian Street and Corsair Way. Belfair will terminate into a cul-de-sac with 41 cluster homes along the the private street.

Each new street will require four-foot-wide sidewalks with single connections to the proposed sidewalks from East Veterans Drive and Neal Street. The remaining lot will consist of a common area and a parking lot. Putnam Contracting Services, LLC is the contractor and Ironclad is the developer and owner, according to sources.

No cost estimates have yet been released.
