The running will take place Oct. 25.
WCTE’s annual Haunted Half Marathon, Relay & 5K date has been set. The 18th annual running will take place Oct. 25. Participants must be 12 years old before race day to run the half-marathon and 10 years old before race day to run the 5K.
“… This Halloween-themed race takes runners on a loop course through the small city of Cookeville, where runners and walkers will start the race on the campus of Tennessee Tech University,” according to a release by WCTE.
The area’s Craft Beer festival takes place on that very day. Read more about that HERE. And, registering for the race makes one eligible for a discounted beer ticket.

Haunted Half Mile
That’s good news. The event, which features three different races, serves as a qualifier for the Run the Cumberland Race Series.
The races include:
- Haunted Half – 13.1 miles on a scenic run through the country with several water stations, bathroom stops, and cheering crowds!
- Relay Team – A relay team of 3 can register to run the 13.1-mile race; each person runs a portion of the race, see Race Info for exact distance.
- 5K – 5K runners will enjoy the same start and finish line, as well as the first mile of the half-marathon
Costume contest
- Unique finisher’s medal – “Every year we feature a unique “haunted” themed finisher’s medal that every runner who completes the race will receive.”
- Awesome shirt design – “A custom short and long sleeve race shirt option with a distinctive themed design is included with your registration. Make sure you sign up before the shirt cut-off date to be guaranteed a shirt, Sept. 15, 2025. This shirt will surely be one you want to wear again and
again.” - Custom Race Bib – “A custom race bib with your name and race number will be provided if registered by Oct. 1.”
