Halloween Hollow is located on a 259-acre farm

Halloween Hollow has quickly become a go-to for families every October.

Within the silver-lined boundaries of Silver Point, owners Erica McElroy and Carroll Moore, opened the haunted attraction that features three different themed haunted houses, a corn maze for the little spookies, a feline fortuneteller and tons of live entertainment.

HH is located on a 259-acre farm at 14400 Old Baxter Road known as Defender’s Retreat dedicated to providing Veterans, First Responders, families and friends with a place to enjoy the great outdoors.

The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting to celebrate both entities.

“With hiking trails, pavilion rentals, luxury camping and live music events, this nonprofit (Defender’s Retreat) retreat is committed to supporting disabled Veterans and First Responders through its 501(c)(3) mission,” according to the Chamber.

HH ownership told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal why they decided to set up shop in Silver Point.

“We chose Silver Point in particular because of its abundance of silver and its geographic boundaries,” the owners told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal. “They help contain the “Fear Factions” that dwell inside Halloween Hollow. These are ancient beings that originated Halloween, so we had to create a town for them to stay. That town is Halloween Hollow.”

There you go. Now you know.

“This thrilling attraction features four haunted experiences, a fear zone, fortuneteller, monster midways, games, live entertainment and even a not-so-scary corn maze for those seeking a lighter night of fun,” according to the Chamber. “Two businesses, two ribbons and one incredible celebration!”

HH is open Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. They will also be open Halloween night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets can be bought online or at the door.
