COOKEVILLE – More than 200 people in Putnam County were placed in jobs in 2013 thanks to Goodwill.
The numbers are part of a record-breaking year for the non-profit, as its Career Solutions centers found jobs for 5,615 Middle Tennesseans. That’s up from 3,154 in 2012. In Putnam County specifically, 208 were placed in jobs, Goodwill recently announced.
The increase is partly due to the growing number of job fairs hosted at 25 Career Solutions centers, Goodwill said. In fact, the number of job fairs more than doubled in the second part of the year.
Additionally, Goodwill says there are currently 1,300 employers actively hiring Career Solutions clients. The next job fair in Cookeville, for example, is 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Cookeville Career Solutions, 565 S. Jefferson Ave.
