JACKSON COUNTY – Officials in Jackson County are hoping a first-year “tour of homes” will get residents into the Christmas spirit.
The Gainesboro beautification committee is hosting an inaugural tour of homes from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Many of the stops – there are nine homes in the showcase – have historical significance and are decorated for the holiday season.
Tickets for the tour, which is self-guided, can be purchased at the Bull & Thistle Pub, Gainesboro Drugs, Anderson & Haile Drugs and at city hall. Cost is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event.
Committee members are hoping the tour will also bring shoppers to its local stores. There was no formal list of the homes included – although a brochure and map will be provided with each ticket.
