“Grab the kids, dust off those bicycles, and join us for a fun-filled day in Algood,” According to a release by the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
The event is a free family bike ride for “kids of all ages.”
The event, hosted by the Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation in support of Carmen’s Fund, which provides free CPR, AED, and First Aid training to teachers, school staff and nonprofit volunteers across the Upper Cumberland, is geared “primarily toward families with new riders, elementary-aged kids, and little bikers ready to try the rail-trail,” according to CRMC.

FFBR is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Algood Park at 125 4th Avenue, “near the library and baseball fields.”
It will feature two opportunities for one-mile bike rides along the Rail-Trail and:
- Games
- Giveaways
- family-friendly activities
The first 200 children to check in will receive a free hot dog lunch, t-shirt, and free tastings of shaved ice, ice cream, juice and water.
“Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the park gate,” according to CRMC.
Ongoing activities include:
- Inflatable obstacle course and activity stations
- Safety booths with Algood Police, Algood Fire and local first responders
- Bike safety demonstrations, CPR and first aid practice stations
- Giveaways, snack and dessert tastings
