Detectives recovered a “large amount of suspected anabolic steroids”

Cookeville – Justin Henry, the former owner of a business known as Power Athletics in Cookeville, has been charged with possessing, selling and manufacturing anabolic steroids, according to a release by the Cookeville Police Department (CPD).

According to the release, “In Oct. 2022, the Cookeville Police Department received information about possible illegal drug activity at a business previously known as Power Athletics located at 1500 Interstate Drive.”

On Oct. 21 of last year detectives executed a search warrant at the business and recovered a “large amount of suspected anabolic steroids as well as equipment and packaging used for the manufacture and distribution of the drug.”

Henry was later interviewed and admitted to possessing, selling and manufacturing the steroids on site. Everything collected by the department was then sent to the TBI crime lab for analysis and tested positive for the drug.

“A Felony warrant was obtained July 11 2023, for Prohibited Activities, Anabolic Steroids and Mr. Henry turned himself in at the Putnam County Jail. A bond for the offense was set at $15,500,” according to the release.

The CPD says the investigation remains active and asks anyone who may have information related to this incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 931-526-2125.
