Amy Mason, a firefighter diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer, was an inspiration for the tradition
On Sept. 21 Bowling World (BW) in Cookeville will hold Rollin’ With The Pros to Strike Out Cancer (RWP).
RWP is a pro-am tournament (3-game series). Proceeds will go toward the fight of cancer.
“That’s right! We’re changing it from a 2-game series to a 3-game series,” announced the bowling alley. “More fun, more competition, and more time with our Pros—at no additional cost! Learn, Challenge & Compete!
Amy Mason, a firefighter diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer, was an inspiration for the tradition, according to a post by the company.
“During her treatments, Amy noticed many facing their battles alone,” according to a Facebook post by Bowling World. “This realization brought her even closer to the Putnam County Family YMCA, a place where community and support flourish hand in hand.”
Mason says programs like the YMCA Cancer Recovery Program add a sense of community. The free Program offers Nutritional Counseling, Lymphedema Counseling, Personal Training sessions and a six-month free membership.
“Everyone at the YMCA is so kind. I am so grateful for the caring support and sense of community from this group,” says Amy.
