Disabled veterans to be honored

COOKEVILLE – Gov. Bill Lee has proclaimed Friday, Sept. 15 to be Disabled Veterans of America Day. A ceremony to honor and commemorate the Disabled Veterans will be held on Friday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. at the Putnam County Courthouse steps. 

The DAV is being honored for 100 years of serving veterans of the Armed Forces, their families, survivors and communities. The event is being hosted by Chapter 117 in Cookeville and a member of Congressman John Rose’s staff will be on hand to present the chapter with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition. The DAV is being recognized for 100 years of serving veterans of the Armed Forces, their families, survivors, and communities.
