Now open for private parties and gatherings in the heart of Monterey
The Southwind: Monterey’s Depot Dining Car, a part of The Monterey Depot Museum, is holding a grand opening celebration in Monterey. The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) will be on hand for the event.
“Join us as we celebrate the grand opening of The Southwind: Monterey Depot’s Dining Car, a fully restored 1940s Santa Fe dining car now open for private parties and gatherings in the heart of Monterey,” according to the Chamber.

The Southwind: Monterey’s Depot Dining Car
The venue, in the heart of Monterey just behind the Tennessee Central Soda Shop at 123 E. Commercial Avenue in Monterey, seats up to 50 guests while “brings a piece of rail history back to life.”
“… Offering a charming and memorable setting for community events,” according to the Chamber. “The project was made possible through the generous support of J&S Construction”
