The month saw 22 permits worth $5.4M of construction
According to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter, December was a steady month of construction in the county. The month saw 22 permits worth $5.4M of construction.
14 of those were for new single-family residential homes.
“In comparison,” said Porter, “December 2023 had 24 permits for $5.8 million with 21 of those being new single-family homes. For the calendar year of 2024 we had 376 permits for $88.5 million with 225 of those being new single-family homes.”
Porter says the county has surpassed the total dollar amount of construction from last year.
“… With $88.5 million compared to $82.2 million in 2023,” said Porter. ‘We also got close to the record in 2022 of $90.3 million.”
Permits in December generated $20,929 in fees. Those fees operate the Building Codes Department. The numbers represented for Putnam County and do not include any of the four cities.
