The airport is “growing and strategically placed”

The city of Crossville recently held a ribbon cutting for Crossville Memorial Airport and “Fly In and open house.” The terminal building has been newly renovated with new access to restrooms and conference areas.

“We want to say a big thank you to everyone who made this project possible,” said the Crossville–Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce.

Crossville Mayor RJ Crawford was on hand for the event.

“A big shout to Speaker (Cameron) Sexton,” said Crawford, “… for making sure that the funding for this project and the hangar was in the budget. He worked with the TDOT aeronautics team, and I appreciate them for seeing the benefit and the need for us to have something like this here.”

Ribbon cutting – The Crossville Memorial Airport recently held a ribbon cutting to celebrate expansion.

Crawford says the airport is growing and strategically placed.

“It’s important that we have a facility that not only meets the needs of our locals, but also the state and the region,” said Crawford.

Stone Peak Ceramics of Crossville donated the tile used for the continued project and expansion. Flynn Signs created the new, eye grabbing sign at the entrance of the facility.

“I think that’s pretty catchy,” said Crawford. “Gives a nice little face-lift out to the road kind of showing what kind of classy establishment we have here.”

Stubbs Construction contracted the project while Lamb and associates did the architecture work, and local talent provided a lot of support on the project.

“We would like to extend a thank you to everyone who helped make our Fly in and Open House such a success – City Staff, Azure Flight Support, the Airport Committee, all of the volunteers, local businesses, sponsors, and anyone who attended the event!

We had a great day and hope you did too,” according to a statement by the City of Crossville.
