COOKEVILLE – Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is set to make Upper Cumberland Urology Associates (UC Urology) a part of its medical family of services.

The purchase from Dr. Lee Moore and Dr. Quinton Cancel for $1,289,710 would make UC Urology staff members employees of CRMC.

The need to expand urology services in Cookeville became clearer this fall when Cancel left Cookeville for an opportunity in Asheville, NC and Moore was unable to practice temporarily due to an unexpected injury.

CRMC CEO Paul Korth said that he was already searching for urologists to join the CRMC team.

“Our big goal is bringing in urologists,” Korth said.

UC Urology is located at 310 and 320 N. Oak Avenue and includes two lots and buildings, including a 7,045-square-foot building housing the medical office. The purchase price for the property is $1,150,000. The assets of the practice will be purchased for $139,710.

The purchase was approved by the city of Cookeville, who will hold title to the property, at the Dec. 19 council meeting. It was noted that Councilman Chuck Womack retired from UC Urology and has not been connected with the practice for over five years.
