For Hospitals Week 2024, Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is holding what it calls a “resounding celebration” for those health care workers that make it all work.
“From a cookout to an ice cream sundae bar to the annual service awards banquets, Cookeville Regional is proudly honoring the collective achievements of its employees, 255 of whom have dedicated five, ten and even twenty-plus years at CRMC,” said CRMC in a release.

Buffy Key, CEO of CRMC, says it is a collective effort to make the dream work.
“It takes all of us to make the medical center run,” said Key. “No one position is more important than the other, so this is always a fun week of celebration to see us all come together.”
CRMC has over 2,500 employees, 175 physicians and over 40 medical and surgical specialties serving the 14-county Upper Cumberland region and into Kentucky.
During the past fiscal year 2022 to 2023, CRMC has seen 48,838 ER patients annually, delivered 1,477 babies, performed 9,726 surgeries, completed over 3,868 heart procedures and welcomed over 13,357 inpatient admissions and 181,926 outpatient visits a year.
“Cookeville Regional is recognized and holds over 20 national accreditations and achievements and has expanded services and added new physicians to its medical staff to continue fulfilling its mission of building healthier communities,” according to the release.
Without an incredible staff, and the community within CRMC, none of that would be possible, according to Key.
“I remember presenting these numbers and achievements to the staff at a town hall meeting and saying, ‘You all did this.’ That is so true. Our medical center has incredibly dedicated and hard-working staff,” said Key. “It is an honor to lead alongside them and serve the people of our region. I want to thank them for all they do and wish them a happy hospital week.”
