COOKEVILLE – The look of Cookeville’s West Side will soon be changing. Ground was recently broken on a new mixed-use commercial/residential building located at the site of the former Whitson Hardware.

The three-story development will have commercial/retail on the main floor with residences located on the second and third floors, according to Jack Lynn, owner of Pine Valley Properties and developer of the project.

The main floor has been designed as a shell and can be built to suit potential tenants.

There will be seven loft style apartments, three two-bedroom units and four one-bedroom units.

Lynn said that the foundation was under construction and framing should begin in October or November. The project is projected to be complete by Fall 2021.

Pine Valley Properties is active in Putnam County residential construction. They currently have properties available for sale on Kinniard Road and Bunk
