CMC welcomes 2019 New Year’s baby, announces 2019 childbirth class schedule

CROSSVILLE – Cumberland Medical Center has announced the birth of the hospital’s first 2019 New Year’s baby. Kasey Edward Tollett was born on Jan. 1, 2019 at 12:13 p.m. to parents Brittany and Fred of Lake Tansi.

Kasey was delivered by Cumberland Medical Center OB/GYN Dr. Will Smith. He weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.

CMC offers free childbirth classes for those who are expecting, to learn about the signs of labor, relaxation breathing techniques and infant care. The classes also cover breast and bottle feeding to help guarantee the baby gets the best nutritional start. Registration is required and can be secured by calling (931) 484-9511.

Participants can choose from attending three weekly evening classes or attending a super Saturday session. Weekly sessions from 6 to 8:30 p.m. are:
Jan. 10, 17, and 24
Feb. 12, 19, and 26
March 14, 21, and 28
April 9, 16, and 23
May 9, 16, and 23
June 11, 18, and 25
July 11, 18, and 25
Aug. 13, 20, and 27
Sept.12, 19, and 26
Oct. 8, 15, and 22
Nov. 7, 14, and 21
Dec. 3, 10, and 17

Super Saturday sessions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be held:
April 6
Aug. 3
Dec. 7
