The rezoning looks to make future growth easier

The Cookeville City Council unanimously approved the rezoning of 3429 Lee Seminary Road from Single-Family Residential to Commercial-Industrial Mixed-Use on first reading Thursday evening.

The property, which is connected to the Highlands Business Park, will allow for easier future development of the park, according to officials. The 16.49 Acres was first studied for rezoning by the planning commission in a special called meeting in September.

The land was acquired by the City and Putnam County in Aug. 2022.
