Change a career with Spring classes at Vol State Cookeville

COOKEVILLE – Many people are unhappy with their current job situation. But there is an important point to keep in mind- applicants need the education and experience to be ready for that new career and to get that new job. Volunteer State Community College has more than 100 areas of study, including two-year degrees to get students directly into the workforce. Spring classes at Vol State Cookeville start on Jan. 18. New and returning students should apply now.

Affordability and flexibility are two of the top needs of adult students. TN Reconnect provides tuition-free community college for adults who don’t already have a college degree. People with a degree can apply for scholarships through the Vol State College Foundation. Flexibility comes in the form of day and evening classes in-person and a wide range of online courses.

The last two years have been challenging for everyone. Students who have stopped attending are encouraged to talk to Vol State staff to work out a plan to come back. There may be options former students have not considered that can help them finish their degree work.

Cookeville students can earn a technical certificate in Business in just one year. The programs give students the knowledge and skills needed for careers in fields such as banking, accounting, finance, human resources, logistics, management, marketing, sales and supply chain management. Those graduates can then continue classes to earn an A.A.S. Degree in Business.
