Expansion will enable Carlex to fabricate larger precision-formed automotive glass

Carlex Glass America will expand its advanced manufacturing operations in Nashville.

“The state with the workforce will win the future, and I’m proud to announce this investment in one of Nashville’s longstanding manufacturing facilities. I thank Carlex for its continued investment in our state and demonstrated commitment to creating greater opportunity for Tennesseans,” said Governor Bill Lee.

The more-than $55 million project will create 143 high-skill jobs and equip the Davidson County campus with next generation production lines. Scheduled for completion in mid-2026, the expansion will enable Carlex to fabricate larger precision-formed automotive glass using the most technologically advanced equipment available – the only end-to-end process of its kind in North America.

“This year marks nearly seven decades of our company serving as an anchor for the broader Nashville economy, and we are thrilled to further strengthen our roots here via this investment. We have an amazing team in Nashville, and together, they have made our facility the ‘best-in-class’ glass manufacturer for the world’s leading automakers. We will continue to deliver for our customers and our community in the months and years to come,” said Ramzi Hermiz, CEO, Carlex.

A cornerstone of Tennessee manufacturing since 1958, Carlex serves original equipment manufacturer customers across the automotive sector, providing products ranging from windshields, panoramic roofs, sidelights and backlights.
