Service Brings Cataract, Glaucoma and Diabetic Eye Treatment Closer to Warren County Patients
(UCBJ) – Ascension Saint Thomas (AST), a 125-bed regional hospital with nearly 400 staff and 26 medical specialties, has added ophthalmology services at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park in Warren County, expanding access to diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of eye conditions.
Leading the charge is Dr. J.D. Bonner, a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Christian Ophthalmology Society. He is an anterior-segment surgeon with more than 20 years of ophthalmology experience, according to AST.
Services include:
- Cataracts
- Glaucoma
- Diabetic eye disease
- Eye infections
- Eyelid disorders
- Eye trauma
- Refractive vision issues, including nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism
According to AST, treatment options include:
- medical management
- surgical care when appropriate, supported by advanced diagnostics and minimally invasive and laser-assisted techniques
