Ribbon cutting will take place on the third floor of Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital
Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital has completed its newly expanded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in McMinnville, and the hospital is celebrating the milestone with a ribbon cutting Monday, Sept. 22.
In what officials are calling, “a significant investment in the health and well-being of the McMinnville community,” the community will host a ribbon cutting and a blessing ceremony where visitors will be able to tour the new ICU.
“The state-of-the-art 12-bed ICU, located on the hospital’s renovated third floor, replaces the previous 8-bed unit, increasing capacity to meet the growing health care needs of the region,” according to a release.
A $7.6 million grant from the State of Tennessee and matched by AST, helped fund the project. The total investment was $15.2 million for the expansive project.
The goal was to deliver enhanced services with more modern spaces.
“Equipped with advanced medical technology, enhanced patient spaces and modernized facilities, the expanded ICU is designed to deliver more timely, critical and lifesaving care, close to home,” according to the report.
Located at 1559 Sparta St in McMinnville, the ribbon cutting will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the third floor of Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.
