Appalachian Center for Craft to host Holiday Festival Nov. 19-21

COOKEVILLE – Tennessee Tech’s Appalachian Center for Craft will host its annual Holiday Festival Nov. 19-21.

“The Gallery is getting in new work every day, special holiday-themed work and gorgeous textiles, glass, functions and decorative ceramics, furniture and home décor, jewelry and so many one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list or yourself,” Gail Gentry, Program Manager, said.

For the entire month of November, the Craft Center Gallery is featuring alumni Jenn Luna, April Hale, Marcus Johnson, Allison Pate and Kiki Dunham.

During the Holiday Festival, the Craft Center Gallery is offering discounts throughout the weekend of November 19-21 – 30% Friday and 25% Saturday and Sunday.

They are also offering special, hands-on, shorter-length workshops.  Pre-registration is recommended. Sessions vary from 1-2 hours, fees vary and minimum age requirements vary. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to attend a workshop

“Register online for a variety of holiday-inspired, hands-on workshops,” Gentry said. “Each workshop is designed for true beginners and the creations will make wonderful keepsakes, presents or holiday traditions.”

Saturday, Nov. 20, participants can pre-register to make clay cut-outs and decorate ornaments for ages 4 and up – registration fee includes firing and shipping to participants’ homes; origami book/ornament making; blowing your own glass ornament; creating enameled copper ornaments; and carving wooden ornaments. All materials and tools required for the workshops are included.

The festival hours are Friday, 3-7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-5 p.m.
