Aphena facility renovation wins J&S top honors

COOKEVILLE – J&S Construction recently won Gold in the prestigious TITAN Property Awards, for the “Commercial Redevelopment / Renovation” category, organized by International Awards Associates (IAA). The purpose of the awards is to recognize outstanding designs, creative ideas and pivotal techniques that go into creating unique infrastructure around the world.

With over 600 nominated entries from more than 30 countries, J&S Construction’s renovation project, Aphena Pharma Solutions, was unveiled by TITAN as a 2021 Season 2 winner of the inaugural season of its distinguished awards program.

Located at the former Russell Stover Chocolates fulfillment center on Chocolate Drive, the manufacturing plant sat nearly vacant for more than 15 years until J&S Construction partnered with Aphena to successfully transform the site into a world-class, global headquarters that now includes elegant executive suites, conference rooms, a human resource extension, sizable training room, ample administrative space, 3,000 square feet of break room area and a beautifully-landscaped outdoor courtyard area. Fully-functioning packaging suites were also integrated into the renovated production space that consist of the internal infrastructure required to ensure full-capacity, clean room space operations.

The 500,000 square-foot renovation project allowed Aphena to consolidate two of its three Putnam County locations into one, up-to-date facility while also accommodating future growth areas in biologic packaging, cold chain storage and 3PL distribution services.

Aphena, one of the top employers in the Upper Cumberland, is an industry-leading organization that provides contract manufacturing, packaging and now third-party logistics services, for the pharmaceutical, consumer health, biologics and medical device markets.
