Award Celebrates Decades of Leadership and Community Service

(UCBJ) – During Cookeville Regional Medical Center’s board of trustees meeting, Buffy Key, chief executive officer of Cookeville Regional Medical Center, received the American Hospital Association (AHA) Legacy of Leadership Award in recognition of the organization’s 75 years of membership and partnership with the American Hospital Association.

The Legacy of Leadership Award recognizes hospitals and health systems whose long-standing commitment to AHA membership reflects decades of leadership, collaboration and dedication to advancing the health of their communities.

For 75 years, Cookeville Regional Medical Center has partnered with the AHA to strengthen patient care, support caregivers and advocate for policies that ensure hospitals can continue serving those who depend on them.

The award was presented by Rebecca Jolley, regional executive for the American Hospital Association, during the board meeting in recognition of the milestone.

“Seventy-five years of partnership is a remarkable achievement and a testament to Cookeville Regional Medical Center’s enduring commitment to serving its community,” said Rebecca Jolley, Regional Executive for the American Hospital Association. “Throughout changing healthcare landscapes, Cookeville Regional has remained steadfast in its mission while partnering with the AHA to strengthen hospitals, improve patient care, and ensure the voices of hospitals are heard at the national level. It was an honor to recognize Buffy Key, the board of trustees, and the entire Cookeville Regional team for this extraordinary legacy of leadership.”

Under Key’s leadership, Cookeville Regional Medical Center continues to advance high-quality care and strengthen access to healthcare for the Upper Cumberland while building on a legacy that spans generations.
