COOKEVILLE – After a long hiatus, movie lovers will once again be able to see new releases on the big screen. The Cookeville AMC Classic Highland 12 plans to reopen on Aug. 27 with reduced seating capacities, simplified menu offerings and new cleaning and safety measures in place.

Movies and showtimes are still to be announced, but welcome back offers are available here.

AMC will be requiring all guests to wear facemasks that fit snuggly around your face and chin. Neck gators, open-chin bandanas and masks with ventilation holes are not allowed. Masks can be removed while enjoying refreshments.

Seating capacities will be reduced to 30% capacity or less, with every other row blocked off for social distancing. Concessions will be limited to traditional offerings, with refills temporarily stopped, and condiments available by request.

Daily associate health checks will be performed with anyone presenting with a fever or symptoms required to self-quarantine until symptom free for at least 72 hours.

Extra time will be allowed between showings to allow extra care cleaning with electrostatic disinfectant sprayers, cutting-edge equipment maximizes surface coverage by using negatively charged ions so that the disinfectant particles wrap around and cling to positively charged surfaces, to be used between each show.Other cleaning enhancements include HEPA filter vacuums and upgraded MERV 13 air filters throughout the theater.
